  in paragraph 2 of this study, the gbojw evidences once again that they are sticking to the absurd 1914 doctrine – “when the last days of the present system began...”.

  i noted that as 2014 approached, the gbojw became somewhat reticent about making reference to revelation 12:12 – the “short period of time” scripture.

  so this study is the first one in a long time in which both the 1914 doctrine and revelation 12:12 are mentioned in the same study.

  NK, I don't think it was discussed on this thread but there is another phenomenon which flourishes in the JW community; that of fixating on the behaviour of others.

  It is a human trait to be overly concerned over one individual but I have seen it so many times where a JW develops a "thing" about someone which bugs them and often sends them into another congregation or better, out of the org altogether.

  The edict from the demi-gods seems to be directed not only to the disgruntled group but perhaps to those with JW "personality fixations"?

  Did the flood happen?

  so we were talking about noah for our family worship tonight and it ended with a little debate between me and my parents about how the flood was possible.

  you know, where did the water come from, how did all the animals fit, etc.

  of course it led nowhere and my parents came up with some strange theories like that there was "an expanse of water in the sky" and that's where all the water came from.

  It is completely absurd to believe that a global flood occurred in historical time, there is no evidence that it happened and it was and remains a physically impossible event.

  However once a person can believe that impossibilities are factual; then he or she is capable of believing that any madcap idea can happen, even other magic absurdities such as the idiotic one that the governing body of Jehovah's Witnesses are specially chosen and directed by God.

  in his final talk he mentioned that at the fight of armageddon jesus will fight together with the 144 000. he then reminds the audience that one angel destroyed 185000 assyrians.

  so what are "144 000 immortal creatures together with jesus going to do".

  Further to what I said about TM3, it would be at this stage the average person would say to himself, wait a moment this is absurd, I'm not going to heaven and be able to control weather, that's ridiculous! The average non-deluded person would quickly wake up at the realization of the absurdity.

  If TM3 doesn't wake up now perhaps it's because he already knows it's a charade?

  Respectful observer, I do find your comments about tight pants Tony quite disturbing. Even if he has awarded himself immortal life in the heavens with divine powers capable of controlling weather, it would only be a fool who would joke about it.

  The first principle in listening to Jehovah's Witnesses: Don't believe a word of it!

  The NWT (Not Well Translated) was done by amateurs who took liberties with the text promoting their trade mark god by translating the word "Lord" as "Jehovah," all to further their own cultic interests.

  It was the date fixated and religious obsessive Fred Franz who led the translation team.

  You cannot trust the integrity of the governing body of Jehovah's Witnesses.

  I never bought the calendars, if anyone came to my house and saw one they would immediately spot that I belonged to a freaky religious cult.

  The symbolism of the baptism picture is typical of JWs using "the world" to bolster their lowly status. With a backdrop of the refined classical architecture and the expensive dress and elegance of the female figure; they mislead the viewer into thinking their brand of christianity was about style and high fashion.

  In reality these aspects of life are severely played down today by the deceiving JW organisation. Back in the first and second centuries the christ cults were mainly drawn for the 'great unwashed' peasantry who would have been far removed from the likelyhood of such pretentiousness.

  It is possible that one of the planets is made from cheese.

  I would say it has about the same odds as there is for there being a divine creator.

  The difference being we can test the nature of planetary material but God leaves no trace, he is undetectable; he has only been found to exist in the human imagination.
